The need to promote an ideal common to all members of society is one of the main challenges to be addressed by CAPED in its efforts to protect the environment and ecosystems and to improve the living conditions of vulnerable people.
As a non-political, not-for-profit organization, CAPED’s overall objective is to contribute to the protection of the environment and ecosystems and to the sustainable social, cultural and economic development of vulnerable communities. To achieve this, CAPED’s specific objectives are to:
- Promote the integral development of grassroots communities by improving basic social services (health, education, water and sanitation, gender equity, etc.);
- Protect the environment and ecosystems (biodiversity);
- Combating HIV/AIDS and gender-based sexual violence;
- Promoting human rights for sustainable development for vulnerable people;
- Protecting and promoting the good cause of young people, and specifically that of young unemployed girls; and
- Promote income-generating activities in economic areas such as agriculture, fishing, livestock farming and small-scale trade for the benefit of vulnerable people and grassroots communities.
